Delivery and Installation – What to Expect

How long does delivery take?

Origin Bi-fold Doors have one of the fastest lead times in the industry. Your brand new bi-folds doors can be delivered in three weeks after ordering, if chosen in one of our popular colours.

How will my doors be delivered?

Your doors will be delivered in kit form to your local Origin Partner/Installer, who will then bring it to your home to install on an agreed date.

Do I need to be at home during installation?

Ultimately, this is up to you as the homeowner. You won’t have to do anything during installation, so technically you will only be needed to let the installer in. However, we would recommend staying present during the installation for your own peace of mind.

How long does installation take?

This varies depending on the number of doors you purchase, how many installers will be on site and if any additional work is required. Generally, installation for a small door set is half a day. For a larger set it can take a full day.

Do I need to prepare the area?

If your doors are being installed into a wall that previously has not had doors fitted, then you will need to have done all the necessary building work to prepare the area. This means creating the right sized opening to fit the frames and ensuring the entire area is clean and tidy for an installer to work. However, our Origin Trade Partners may be able to offer this service.

If this is your situation, it’s likely that your installer will get in touch with you and possibly arrange a site visit to establish what needs to be done before the doors can be put in place.

If you are replacing your current doors, your installer may remove your old doors for you and be able to simply install your new doors with limited preparation required.

I’m replacing my current doors with bi-fold doors. Can you remove the old doors for me?

This varies between installers but most should offer this service for an additional cost.

How much does it cost to install bi-fold doors?

There will be an installation charge but it varies greatly depending on the size of the doors, number of doors and any further work that is required. We recommended getting an installer to survey the site so they can give you an accurate price to complete the installation.
